Our two big events are on the books.

On the 19th we held our first ever surf fishing event. This year's event was held in honor of Fred Pane. We didn't have the turn out that we had hoped for, but it was a ton of fun! We spread out on the beach in Sea Isle City, from 1st to 10th streets. Teams and individuals we given rigs, a towel, bucket, bait, a knife, and had the option to join in a calcutta. Donuts and coffee were provided by the Sea Isle VFW and fresh donuts delighted the crowd from Duck Donuts in Sea Isle.

You couldn't have asked for a nicer day. It was gorgeous. The Sea Isle Fire Department brought their ladder truck and flew Old Glory high and proud for all to see. Everyone fished from six to ten in the morning, but the fish were not cooperating. Other than one ray, a Sea gull, and so.e random crabs, not much was caught. Regardless, everyone had fun. When the fishing ended we returned to the community center where hot dog Mike was waiting with a cart full of tasty dogs for everyone. Prizes were handed out and stories shared. Can't wait for next year's surf event!

Our barbeque was equally fun and successful. Granted, we prepped for 400 or more, and had a hundred or so attend. We had a lot of competition from multiple tuna tournaments and Wikdwoods Boots on the Beach. Despite that little set back we nearly matched our donations from the previous year.

The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Our Chinese Auction gift baskets were loaded with awesome goodies from our many donors throughout Cape May County and beyond. Good beer. Hook, Line, and Warriors merchandise. And killer music provided by Erik Simonsen. That man can sing! And a surprise visit from Mr. Van Drew, who gave a wonderful, inspiring speech.

When I say it went off without a hitch, was fun, and Community driven, I'm down playing it. It was a phemonal time! Even the bouncy house provided by Patriot Inflatables was used by those young and old for even more laughs. So much fun. Fond memories. And dreams of events to come.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us. It means the world to us that you help us to help our heroes. We hope that we make you proud of the support that you've shown and given to us in our short time here. We hope to keep it rolling and growing. And we hope you will continue to follow along for the ride. Thank you!
